April 15 is just around the corner. Now is the time to start preparing your income tax return.

VITA, Beta Alpha Psi’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, offers free tax assistance to low- to moderate-income people at Western, Whatcom Community College and the Fairhaven Libraries and Western's Viking Union.

Western’s Theta Phi is the local chapter of the Beta Alpha Psi accounting society.

“I’m doing my taxes early this year because I’ve done them late before, and early is better,” said Lauren Hatch, a transfer student from Edmonds Community College and a philosophy graduate working on a second degree in education.
