Posted by abercrombie, on Nov. 20, 2009 09:43AM It's time to start pushing alternatives because having almost 100% of our transportation powered by oil is simply unwise. I drive an electric car already and hope more options come on the market soon. Sure, it's limited compared to a gas car, but it is better in other areas. This could change if companies are building tens of thousands of these a year. There should be room for both. I have both.    As for the Alias, I've been following the development and it is not available yet. I believe ZAP said maybe next year, but it's been seen here and there as part of the X Prize competition.    One point you may consider is the consumer. Consumers, if you don't start voting with your wallet on electric vehicle technologies, it will never go anywhere fast.
