Comment in question Posted by county_kid , on Mar. 09, 2010 03:08PM Ken, Nice GENERALIZATION about the DNR, and the folks that work there. Timber has been managed on Blanchard mt for over 100 years, and many of the trails up there are actually *gasp* old logging roads or skid trails. Trees grow back, and the DNR does a good job at managing the timberlands in our state. Whether you believe that or not, don't loose sight as to how and why Bellingham and all the surrounding communities came to be in the first place, resource extraction...and surprise surprise, it has now returned as a "vibrant ecosystem". It is important that you are able to see both sides of the fence. Most people in these parts tend to live in wood houses... just sayin...
